Albania makes it to the top 5 in the junior Eurovision

TIRANA, Nov. 25 – Albania’s Mishela Rapo finished fifth in this year’s Junior Eurovision song contest in Bulgaria, registering the country’s best ever result in this junior competition.

Rapo, 14, competed with “Dambaje,” a song about connecting people from all over the world with the power of friendship and music.

“Being a part of the Junior Eurovision has always been my dream…it’s not the first time for me to be a part of an international festival, but this was so exciting,” she told the junior Eurovision TV.

Rapo represented Albania after winning the local children’s festival in Albania last May.

Prime Minister Edi Rama also congratulated the young singer for her result which is Albania’s best since the country’s debut in 2012. “Congratulations to Mishela for the beautiful performance which ranked Albania in the top 5 of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest,” wrote Rama in social networks.

Back in 2012, Rona Nishliu became the most successful Albanian Eurovision representative in the adult competition after ranking fifth among 26 finalists in the song contest held in Azerbaijan.
