TIRANA, March 17 – The Citizens Advocacy Office appealed Saturday that the license to the third mobile operator Eagle Mobile should be cancelled so that there is free competition with other operators entering the market. The CAO said that the Eagle Mobile had for years remained passive and non-functional disillusioning the market and keeping high tariffs from the two existing companies. It blamed the government and reminded central authorities they were obliged to do that based on the existing laws. The non-governmental organization said they knew of some international companies trying to enter the market and being prohibited by the fact that the Albanian market can have only a third operator, which is currently blocked. The NGO, however, did not mention any of those interested companies by name.
