VLORA, April.10 – Despite the vigorous protest of environmentalists, the contract with Maire Engineering, projecting the start of the studies regarding concrete aspects of the building on April 9, has been respected. The firm has started operations to build the plant with a capacity of 800 million kilowatt, which will serve 15 percent of the consumer needs in southern Albania. The plant will use natural gas as a fuel that respects most European standards of contamination. Mairee Engineering had to wait for the government to get rid of the illegal buildings on the territory designed for the plant in order to start the project for which it signed a contract on February.
