TIRANA, Jan. 30 – Albania and Kosovo have agreed to work together to find an optimal solution to the problem of management of air space of Kosovo, which for the moment will be administered by Albania, on behalf of Kosovo.
This was decided during the meeting in Kosovo between the Albanian Transport minister Sokol Olldashi and Kosovo’s Prime Minister Hashim Tha詠and Infrastructure Minister Fehmi Mujota.
For the moment it is NATO which manages the Kosovo airspace above 8,50 meters. The alliance, in which Albania is a member, has decided to soon pass on such a duty to the Kosovo authorities.
Albania has said it will be ready to help its neighbor until authorities there create the necessary technological and human capacities.
The two transport ministers also decided to work jointly on the coordination of the infrastructure projects in both countries. They also discussed reinstalling the direct Tirana to Prishtina flight and set low tariffs in order to make it competitive to the road link.
