TIRANA, Oct. 21 – Albania’s energy regulator has selected Arben Seferi as the new administrator of the CEZ Shperndarje distribution operator which since January 2013 has been under state administration after the Czechs had their Albania licence revoked. Seferi, a mechanical engineer who has previously served as a roads director at the time the Municipality of Tirana was run by current Prime Minster Edi Rama, will replace Sahit Dollapi who resigned a couple of weeks ago, opposing government plans to nationalize the distribution operator.
Seferi was one of the three short-listed candidates in the race for the new CEZ administrator. In his hearing with the ERE Board of Commissioners, Seferi said the improvement of the bill collection rate and reduction of grid losses would be on top of his agenda. Arben Seferi’s appointment comes after the resignation of Sahit Dollapi who managed the distribution system operator for nine months after the departure of the Czechs.
Seferi’s appointment comes few days after Petrit Ahmeti was elected as the new director of Energy regulator ERE, which supervises the energy sector in Albania.
