TIRANA, July 30 – Edmir Cjapi was arrested after trying to help Nigerians illegally cross into Italy or Greece, an effort for which he was well paid.
Cjapi, owner of a travel agency, said he had contacted one Nigerian on the internet and promised to secure a visa for western European countries and which he asked 760 Euros in payment. Some Nigerians in Albania told police about the deceit and Cjapi was arrested. In February, he received money from four Nigerians but did not answer their mail after receiving their money. The Nigerians sued Cjapi at the foreign ministry. (Tirana Times Staff)
