TIRANA, June 22 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha left Wedneday for Brussels to take part in a meeting of the Europen People’s Parties.
The political European grouping will gather some of the most well-known personalities of European politics, including President Jose Manuel Barroso.
Due to the prolongation of the electoral process and its damage to the country’s integration steps, Europe has made it very clear that Albania is not acting in line with the democratic standards of the continent.
There have been continuous calls recently that the political parties should try to reach consensus and resolve the deadlock culminating recently after the May 8 municipal elections, though this has yet to happen.
