TIRANA, Sep. 25 – A top Chinese military delegation made a visit to Tirana to meet with all top officials in the country do discuss future cooperation and strengthening of the ties between the two countries.
The delegation, led by Dai Sujun, deputy commander of Chinese people’s armed police force, met with Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Defense Minister Arben Imami and other top officials.
The two countries said they hope to strengthen ties and also lift them to a new level.
“Albania attaches great importance to developing better and friendlier relations with China,” Berisha told the Chinese military delegation. The Albanian premier said that his government is determined to strengthen the bilateral relations by stepping up dialogues in all sectors between the two countries, including military.
Dai, a lieutenant general, said the armies between the two countries enjoy a very good relationship and the friendship between the two armies has made contributions to the friendly
bilateral relations in general. Dai said his visit would enhance understanding, deepen friendship and further cooperation between the two armies, and enrich the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Dai also held talks with Albanian Defense Minister Arben Imami and Major General Xhemal Gjunkshi, chief of general staff of Albanian armed forces.
Widening ties between our two countries was the main cause of the visit, according to a statement from the Albanian defense ministry.
Imami also spoke about the situation in the region, the Balkans, and Kosovo, apparently urging Beijing to recognize the new state.
