TIRANA, Aug 23 – The Constitutional Court declared as null the government law allowing for the collection of 15 percent of unpaid taxes as a fine before a court decides on each case.
The government had previously declared that tax authorities were entitled to collect 15 percent of a business’s unpaid taxes prior to a court resolving the case. Businesses had appealed to the Constitutional Court, which decided in their favor. (Tirana Times Staff)
