Cooperation Agreement with Switzerland is signed

TIRANA, May.10- Minister of Public Works, Transportation and telecommunication, Sokol Olldashi and HE Swiss Ambassador Erich Pircher, signed today an agreement for air transportation cooperation. The renewal of the agreement that will deal with safety and management standards was asked by the Swiss side and the agreement respects those set by the International Civil Aviation organization (ICAO), the European Conference of Civil Aviation (ECAC), EUROCONTROL),etc. The exchange of expertise and experience in the air transport field will be very beneficial for the Albanian side given the capacities of the Swiss side in technology and management skills.
Air transportation in Albania has seen a persistent growth and a qualitative development with the modernization of the terminal, new safety procedures from ICTS international company, as well as the new technology of air traffic control by “Lockheed Martin.
In March 2006 the British company “British AIRWAYS” started its regular flights and so did recently on May 2, 2007 the German “LUFTHANSA”.
