Croatian army chief in Tirana

TIRANA, Nov. 1 – Chief of General Staff of Croatian Armed Forces Gen. Josip Lucic made a visit to Tirana where he met with his military counterparts and Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
The visit was considered an expression of the very good friendly relations that exist between the two countries in all fields.
Albania and Croatia became NATO members together in April 2009.
In the talks, the general spoke about the successful reforms the two countries have implemented for the transformation of the defense sector and upgrade of the armed forces into modern armies of NATO standards, capable of taking part and accomplishing tasks as part of the alliance missions.
The interlocutors discussed about the very good cooperation the two countries have established in the field of defense and reconfirmed the willingness of the two countries and governments to promote the existing cooperation even further through exchange of experience, technology or considering the opportunities of common approach.
They also expressed their willingness to pursue the same policy even with the other countries of the region so that the armed forces built the proper capacities.
