TIRANA, Oct. 9 – Tirana Logistic Park, a Euro 40 million investment by Albania-based Balfin Group and the Albanian-American Enterprise Fund launched its construction works this week in Kamza town, just outside Tirana. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Sali Berisha hailed the importance of the park which will employee around 1,100 people, as an important moment for the country. “I guarantee the present investors and all Albanian investors that government considers their support as vital and a shield for the country,” said Berisha, stressing on the considerable number of jobs such projects create.
Michael Granoff of the Albanian-American Enterprise Fund described the project as a pillar for the Albanian economy which will provide safe distribution and transport not only for Albania but the whole region.
With his 200.000m2 land, Tirana Logistic Park will contain 5 warehouses having 80.000m3 of Class A warehouse space. This will be Albania’s first logistic park with highway and rail access, level dock unloading and office space for the tenants. Customs clearance on site and bonded warehouse potential are also available.
The project is an investment by Balfin Group, one of the largest privately owned companies, headed by Albanian entrepreneur Samir Mane. The Group is known for its shopping mall investments such as QTU and TEG in Tirana and most recently the Skopje City Mall in Macedonia
