TIRANA, Oct. 15 – A euro 6 million milk processing plant inaugurated this week in Sukth, outside Durres, is for the first time applying the best European standards. The milk plant, an investment by two Albanian businessmen, has a capacity of processing 20 tonnes of milk per day and employs some 100 people. The plant also regularly exports its products to neighboruing Kosovo.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Agriculture Minister Genc Ruli appreciated the plant’s Tetra Pack packing technology and the UHT sterilization standards.
“The introduction of such technology brings the highest standards of hygiene and food safety and this is established by ‘Made in Albania’ products,” said Ruli.
