FIB portfolio increases to 1.529 million EUR

TIRANA, May 20؆irst Investment Bank may consider as successful its first months of 2009. A report from the Bulgarian banking system classified FIB Bulgaria as one of the most successful banks in the country.
First quarter of 2009 portfolio amounted to 1.529 million EUR with an increase of 23.52 mill EUR from the end of 2008. FIB deposits were worth 1.637 million EUR, 12.27 million EUR more than endyear of 2008 which reflects growing customer faith toward the banking system in general and FIB in particular.
Q1 profits for 2009 were 6.47 million EUR and assets 2.162 million EUR. FIB stocks enjoyed a growth of 120% and other financial indicators, such as liquidity (23.81%), were very positive according to the report.
However, the positive performance indicators of FIB Bulgaria are much higher than the average performance of the banking system in the country. Banking system shows a 2.24 growth in individual deposits compared to 2008, while FIB Bulgaria has score an increase of 15.55%. Credit growth to business averaged 0.55% in the banking system. FIB BG credit portfolio grew by 2.05%.
First Investment Bank in Albania has also experienced a positive trend in 2009. Assets grew by 35%, capital by 11%, and deposits by 38%.
