TIRANA, July 5 – The crisis in neighboring Greece is going to have its direct negative impact soon on Albanians. Greece’s insurance institution has decided to recheck all the pensions given to 21,000 Albanians claiming Greek ethnic origin.
The recheck comes in response to the discovery that many of the Albanians got the 360 Euro pensions though they did not truly belong to the ethnic Greek minority.
Greek Labor and Social Insurance Minister Georgios Koutrumanis has sent a letter to the parliament notifying it of the rechecks of all pensions, including those of alleged ethnic Greeks living in Albania.
