TIRANA, Sept. 24 – Italy-based Ital-Ferr has been selected by the EBRD to carry out a feasibility study and prepare the terms of reference for the concession of the Tirana multimodal passenger terminal where the new train station along with 10 bus lines will be situated. The site expected to built outside Tirana will also host Albania’s first tram station, some 400 minibuses and around 350 taxis and a trade centre, says the municipality.
The news was announced this week by Tirana Mayor Lulzim Basha speaking at an architecture exhibition.
“Ital-Ferr has been confirmed by the board of the EBRD as the studio that will take over the technical, financial and logistic aspects for the construction of the new passenger terminal in the Tirana metropolis,” said Basha, praising the consultant’s design experience in Italy’s railway system.
