ASTI, Italy, June 16 – Twenty-four members of an Italian-Albanian criminal organization involved in cocaine trafficking and the exploitation of prostitution have been arrested. The group operated in Albania, the Netherlands and Italy.
Those arrested had been involved in robberies in local villas and were found in possession of four kilograms of cocaine. Three of the arrested gang members were Italian while others were Albanian.
“This is one of the most ‘important operations carried out by carabinieri. Neutralized convicts were engaged on various fronts: drugs, prostitution, thefts and robberies,” said deputy prosecutor Luciano Tarditi.
