TIRANA, July 10 – Finance Minister Ridvan Bode said Tuesday that the crisis caused by the Albanian Electro-Energy Corporation in recent years has had a negative effect on the country’s finances.

Bode said that KESH had a debt of 3.2 billion leks, or $32 million last year, to the taxation department on tax from profits.

This year the government has been forced to allocate $50 million dollars so KESH could buy energy in the world market.

Bode said that the import prices are higher than the sale prices of electricity in the country causing even larger financial gaps.
