TIRANA, Aug 14 – Gezim Dibra, 54, a lawmaker of the governing Democratic Party in the northwestern Shkodra district, passed away last weekend following a grave illness.
All top officials sent their condolences to the lawmaker’s family praising him for the commitment he had shown to his citizen values, integrity and honesty.
Prime Minister Sali Berisha also paid homage, visiting the family and expressing his condolences to Dibra’s family and the Shkodra citizens.
“Although he didn’t have a long political activity, he made an impression on me and all those who had the good fortune to know him. He was a wonderful man, a noble friend and devoted husband and father,” said Berisha. “They lost an exemplary parent and family member; Shkodra city lost one of its most dignified and noble citizens, a leading and honest politician, a powerful voice in the Albanian Parliament. The Democratic Party lost one of its worthy political activists and the business world the symbol of success.”
