TIRANA, Jan. 21 – An explosion in southwestern Vlora district has injured the head of a small municipality.
The explosion destroyed a Mercedes vehicle driven by Fredo Berberi, 54, head of the Qender commune in the district. Berberi was still in hospital and doctors were not sure if his life was out of any danger yet.
Police are continuing investigation to find the perpetrators.
Meanwhile the main opposition Democratic Party politicians have visited Berberi, who was elected under the DP banner. They said the attack could have been politically motivated.
