TIRANA, June 21 – AC Milan, one of the world’s most successful football clubs, will be back to Albania for the 5th edition of the Milan Junior camp and in Kosovo for the second edition.
The camp will be held for the fifth time in Tirana between July 16th-20th and then in Mitrovica from July 23rd-27th for the second edition in Kosovo. The programme includes lots of training sessions dedicated to tactics and improving technical ability. The two Junior Camps in Tirana and Mitrovica will be open to 400 kids from the ages of 8 to 14.
“The incredible success that this project has had over the years makes us want to concentrate our efforts even more on our children and their passions. I think that the professional approach shown in organising these camps will continue in the future and will go a long way to acting as an example of education at its best, of entertainment and also as a tool to help the growth of our best talents who are the future of this nation. This year is particularly special because it marks the 100th year of independence for Albanians all over the world. I am happy to say that MJC is building a tradition here in Kosovo as well. I wish to thanks our friends from Milan for the undying dedication and passion and for giving thousands of children a dream.” said Anika Taci, vice-president of Taci Oil International at a press conference in Milan.
The Milan Junior Camps in Albania and Kosovo are completely free thanks to Taci Oil International, the main sponsor of the event and a Premium Sponsor of AC Milan since the 2011-12 season. Taci Oil has been close to AC Milan for many years now and has in fact been the main sponsor of Milan Junior Camp Tirana since 2008, recognising in the Italian Club an opportunity for constant growth and improvement. So far the event has brought together about 1400 young Albanian footballers between the ages of 8 and 16 and some of them were also lucky enough to be invited to the annual Milan Junior Camp in Milan, the event that brings the curtain down on the Camps, to play in a tournament with other kids selected from Milan Junior Camps from all over the world.
The partnership between Taci Oil and AC Milan has also led to many other initiatives. Two friendlies for the rossoneri were organised in Albania, in 2008 and 2009, that saw the likes of Maldini, Kakࡡnd Beckham play in Tirana. In 2010 Taci Oil promoted a Milan Park at Tirana, an event that involved thousands of families over the course of one weekend, as well as Milan School Cup a tournament dedicated to the schools of the capital.
