TIRANA, May 5 – The official annual National Job Fair fair ended this week with at least 800 applicants finding jobs with the 80 participating companies and organizations.
The fair attracted the attention of thousands of applicants, mostly youngsters, in a government effort to fight unemployment in the country, a key goal set during the electoral campaign last year. The fair opened last week in Tirana offering, at the start, 6,200 jobs. Official figures have also shown that from 13 percent last year unemployment has gone up to more than 15 percent.
