TIRANA – The parliament’s legal commission has decided to include the investigation request of the last year’s vote in next week’s agenda.
The opposition has made the formal request to create an investigative commission that will check the electoral documentation.
This week the parliament’s cancelled its Thursday session because of the flooding in Shkodra.
It is expected that the lawmakers will discuss next Tuesday how to create the investigative commission.
The political fight has practically frozen the normal work of the parliament as it is not capable of passing any law that asks for the three-fifth or 84 votes. Such laws usually cover issues that are related to the country’s integration process in the European Union.
For the moment the political fight is being kept silent, only sparking in certain moments when government members or opposition leaders do not forget to accuse each other while they assist the flooded population.
A German former minister, Christoph Zopel said in an interview to a local newspaper that the political fight between the two main opposing groupings is self-destroying the political system in the country.
Let’s see if they have understood what that means. Next week, unless flooding deteriorates, could be one to tell Albanians how their leaders try to resolve their disputes.
