Police crack down on drug, prostitution rings

TIRANA, May 19 – Police reported they had cracked down two networks that facilitate drugs and prostitution.
Police arrested nine persons in Tirana after finding 1.3 kilograms of marijuana. They were mainly students. Police said they were either distributors or owners of the drugs. They were investigated and found to have distributed drugs at the Zog I Boulevard area downtown Tirana.
They had rented an apartment in the area to use as a center for the illegal activity. It was learned that the drugs came from southern Albania
In another operation police detained a 24 year old woman and a teenager girl who were allegedly exploited for prostitution.
