TIRANA, Oct. 5 – Prime Minister Edi Rama has returned from a visit to the UN General Assembly in New York, saying it had been a success in promoting Albania’s image abroad and in lobbying for Kosovo’s recognition at international bodies.

“We could feel good about the fact that it was an opportunity to express our opinion and also to note the evolution of Albania’s role and the impact of the foreign policy on the country’s image,” he said.

He also mentioned that he had repeated calls for Kosovo’s recognition at international institutions.

“Kosovo’s full recognition and its integration into the United Nations would be a big push for the peace process and the regional inter-action and would be a good thing for Serbia itself. I considered it right to insist on that thesis,” he said.

Rama also spoke about the idea of organizing and holding a summit for the diaspora.
