TIRANA, Jan. 14 – Albanian Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli on Sunday sent a telegram of congratulations to the new U.S. Congress Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her recent election to the post, the first woman in the Congress to hold that position. “That fact is an excellent example of the wise and good understanding that women may offer to the political life,” she wrote. Topalli also expressed Albania’s and Albanians’ historical friendship with the United States adding she hoped cooperation between the two parliaments would increase during their terms in office.
