TIRANA, Dec. 12 – Albanian President Bamir Topi took part in the 4th Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations of United Nations held in capital Doha where he promoted what Albanians could boast of– a nation which has built its history by acquiring different beliefs and cultures.
Topi also met with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani to discuss bilateral issues and other regional items.
“We are rightly proud about the ancient history and culture of Albania, as well as of the centuries’ old traditions of full harmony and understanding among the main four religions of our country,” said Topi.
He said that demonstrates “that a worthy cultural and inter-religious coexistence can go on living only based upon the respect for diversity.”
“Albanian traditional heritage is based upon a long-term and precious coexistence among the main existing religions throughout the ancient and modern history,” he added.
