TIRANA, June 13 – Heavy rain last weekend flooded many western cities and temporarily blocked roads.
The 32-miimeter rain flooded Durres, but also some streets in Tirana reported flooding when the Lana river overflowed its banks.
The rain caused considerable damage among farmers, especially those with grain crops.
Ferries at the ports of Durres and Vlora found it difficult to cross and all fishing boats chose to remain in port. (Tirana Times Staff)
