Tourism industry must learn to compete

Tourism is a major contributor to the GDP of many countries of the Balkans that have access to the Mediterranean. Neighboring countries like Montenegro and Greece have traditionally supported their tourism with aggressive marketing strategies to attract foreign customers. Hence, the Prime Minister called upon Albania’s tourism industry to become increasingly competitive and to enhance and improve its services in order to thrive within the regional market. However, the problems within the tourism sector seem to be more structural.
