TIRANA, July 29 – Defense Minister Gazmend Oketa awarded the Distinguished Services medal to the Turkish military attach顩n Tirana Col. Hasmet Akyuz in a ceremony at the ministry.
Oketa highly appreciated colonel’s contribution in the qualification of the Albanian armed forces and the strengthening of the bilateral military cooperation between the two countries.
The two countries, and their armed forces have very good relations and Turkey has been a main supplier and supporter to post-communist Albania’s reforms in the military and its efforts of becoming a NATO member. (Tirana Times Staff)
