Two sisters drown in Peqin

PEQIN, Aug. 8 – Two sisters at the village of Lolaj near Peqin town were drowned Tuesday at a reservoir while they were swimming, police reported. Kadrie and Irena Qefalia, 9 and 16 years respectively, from the Bishqem village, were drowned at a reservoir in Lolaj where they had gone for a visit to their relative. Their relative Ada Xhaja survived after being urgently assisted by local people and taken to the nearby hospital at Lushnja. The elder suister Irena threw herself into the water to save her younger sister who was shouting she was drowning but she also sank into the small water reservoir.
