SARANDA, Sept. 14 – Albania archeologists have discovered 15 big pots estimated to belong to the ancient times of Neolithic in Konispol, a southernmost area in the country. The jars were discovered some 1.5 kilometer from the small river of Manete, according to archaeologist Halil Shabani. The pots are joined from an underground canal through which a man may easily move,” said Shabani. They resemble very much the same kind of pots found elsewhere in Qesarat and Lukova in Saranda and Korca and Permet. It is believed they may have served to store each up to one ton of wheat during a period from Neolithic to Paleolithic, and also during the Roman times.
