TIRANA, Aug. 9 – The Albanian Government decided the exclusion of the government and the president from the moratorium of prohibiting the use of speedboats during the next three years. Certain categories of speedboats will be prohibited.
The moratorium was opposed not only by the opposition but also from many fishermen and non-governmental organizations, saying that human trafficking should be stopped on land and that their businesses will be damaged by the decision.
The last decision puts the government in a more difficult position because it tells Albanians they are privileged and may use them for personal purposes during their vacations in summer.
