TIRANA, Aug. 8 – Albanian police in the capital Tirana appealed Tuesday to all foreign residents in the country to go to their offices and renew their residence permits. Police checks have been time and again repeated in the last years after the terrorist attacks around the world. There are a considerable number of foreigners who mainly work with international institutions or foreign companies operating in the country. Police authorities have prepared a plan to check the existing permits and also to find foreign persons who do not have them. Foreigners may be issued permits of residence in Albania from three months to five years. The plan has been distributed to all police stations and their agents will evaluate the presence of each foreigner.
