TIRANA, Aug. 16 – A last meeting to set the finishing touches to the deal among Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria and the AMBO group will be held Sept. 13 in Tirana, according to vice Ministry of Energy and Industry Gjergj Bojaxhi. All the sides are expected to sign a convention for further work. At the end of July a meeting was held in Bulgaria where Albania also expressed her concern on moving the trace end from Vlora, following protests from local residents there claiming it would soil the tourist area. The oil pipeline brings oil from the Caspian Sea through Burgas port in Bulgaria, through Macedonia and then to Albania to trade it to western European countries. Changing the trace in Albania will prove a difficult task for the government as the group has made a $1 million feasibility study before to set that place as the ending point.
