Albania government may sell stake in AMC

ATHENS, March.3 – The Albanian government may be interested in selling its 12.5 percent stake in AMC, Greek mobile operator Cosmote’s subsidiary. Cosmote currently owns 82.4 percent. The news was reported by several unconfirmed Greek media reports. Press reports also state that Cosmote would be the first interested party in purchasing this share. Cosmote owns 97 percent of Cosmo-Holding Albania, which in turn controls 85 percent of AMC. For 2006, AMC reported a customer base of about 1 million and sales of 151 million euro.
