Junior coalition partner against excise rate on vehicle LNG

TIRANA, Dec. 1 – The Socialist Movement for Integration, the junior ally of the ruling Socialist Party, has officially opposed plans to impose an excise rate on vehicle liquefied natural gas, saying the new tax would affect thousands of households and business and not help bring pollution levels down, in a new rift in the ruling coalition following previous differences in the justice reform. In an amendment submitted to Parliament, the SMI parliamentary group which has some 20 MPs and whose votes are key to approve laws, says the 25 percent price hike in the liquid gas used for vehicles…
