Concern mounts as €5 tolls ready to be introduced on Albania-Kosovo highway

TIRANA, Sept. 26 – The Durres-Kukes highway linking Albania to Kosovo is on track to become the country’s first toll road next December as the concessionaire completes the installation of electronic toll collection systems, triggering concern over increased costs among local residents in one of the country’s poorest areas and with negative effects among Kosovo tourists, accounting for about half of total foreign visitors to Albania.
