Policeman accused of sexually harassing minor sentenced to 30 days in prison

TIRANA, Feb. 15 – The Shkodra policeman Berhan Bajrakurti, who was accused and arrested last week of sexually harassing a 15-year-old female student in the Malesi e Madhe area, was sentenced to 30 days of prison on Thursday.

The court gave 30 days to the prosecution body to deepen its investigations and bring evidence confirming the accusations against Bajrakurti.

So far, neither the police nor the prosecution have a denouncer, or even the name of the person who allegedly accused Bajrakurti on social media.

The court session last Thursday took place behind without any media presence. Bajrakurti’s relatives said at the end of the court session the entire case is fictional and blamed the media for making it public.

They further added the published media is made up and that the will go after this entire issue following legal methods.

Last Monday afternoon, through a brief announcement, police notified that Berhan Bajrakurti, specialist in the Gruemire area, was arrested following the social media release of a video in which he appears naked.

According to the social media “Newsbomb.al”, which first published the story, the video was sent to a 15-year-old schoolgirl from Gruemira who Bajrakurti, according to the portal’s announcement, has been harassing for some time.

According to the same portal, the girl’s mother, having learned the story from her daughter,

unsuccessfully tried to report the case to the police of Malesia e Madhe and Shkodra.
