TIRANA, March 15 – March the 15th marks the 29th anniversary of the re-establishment of the diplomatic relations between Albania and the United States, after more than five decades of interruption due to the communist regime of the former.
The process was officiated by signing a Memorandum of Understanding between then Minister of FA Kapllani and US Assistant Secretary Seitz. During these three decades relations have consolidated and attained strategic status in many fields. US assistance to Albania has substantially contributed to the democratization, security and development of the country.
