Wizz Air to launch new base in Tirana

TIRANA, May 29 – Hungarian low-cost airline ‘Wizz Air’ has announced that it will open a new base in Tirana on July 1.

Fifteen new routes will be available via the airline from Tirana to destinations including Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, the UK, Hungary, France, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.

Three aircraft will be added to the new base.

“We see the potential to re-stimulate demand for low-cost travel and contribute to the vital recovery of tourism in these markets. With our new health and safety protocol designed to ensure that our customers and crew can fly safely, we are able to offer more affordable travel opportunities on our extensive network,” Wizz Air CEO Jozsef Varadi said. 

‘Wizzair’ will also extend its bases to three other countries:

Milan Malpensa, Italy: Five new based aircraft, 20 new routes

Larnaca, Cyprus: Two new based aircraft, 11 new routes

Lviv, Ukraine: One new based aircraft, five new routes
