TIRANA, Nov. 29 – Agricultural Organic Association expressed its concern Wednesday that the government was not preparing the law on bio products on time, which was negatively affecting their activity. The association said they were in direct contact with some Italian counterparts, and had also signed agreements during the recent fair, to facilitate the procedure of exporting Albanian domestic products to Europe and America. Two Albanian companies, manufacturing olive oil and plant essences, have been internationally certified. The association said that the Ministry of Environment was not preparing the law on bio products and was allowing the entrance of many products that will become dangerous. They said it is very likely that genetically modified products may enter the country, though they normally are not certified for use here. “There is no commitment by the government so that the clean-up of the western markets does not end in the Albanian market,” a statement said.
