PEZE, Oct.30 – A ceremony of endorsement was held in Peze, to launch Albinvest, the Albanian Agency for Business and Investment that has been chosen to promote the “Albania One Euro initiative.” Albinvest and the project for the “Liberalization and Promotion of Trade and Foreign Direct Investment” are financed by the European Council and United Nations Development Program for a total value of 2,2 million Euro.
High-profile participants in the ceremony included the Head of the EU mission in Albania, Helmuth Lohan, Economy vice Minister Eno Bozdo and the Vice-representative of the UNDP Elzira Sagynbeva. The ceremony was opened by a welcoming word form Albinvest general Director Denis Kalenja.
Albinvest was formed on March, 2006 with an executive Board composed of both government representatives and high business figures. Three Vice ministers, respectively of the Economy, Transportation and Finance are permanent members of the Board. Raiffeisen Bank Director Stephen Grunerud, EHW company director Luan Leka and Breton Director Paulin Radovani are the current business representatives to the agency.
Albinvest Agency through her experience and the services that it will offer aims at inducing higher exports and foreign investments. It will offer legal and economic consultancy to small and medium size businesses. It will have a major role in the improving of the Albanian image and for being so active it has been chosen to promote the “One Euro” initiative as well.
