ATHENS, Aug. 30 – An Albanian bus was attacked with Molotov cocktails in neighboring Greece. There were no passengers in the bus and the driver managed to escape uninjured.
The bus was returning back to Albania when it was in Kefalovriso at the Antiriu – Ioannina road just after midnight Sunday that the attack happened. The bus belonged to a company serving the the Athens-Saranda line.
Greek authorities said they had started an investigation to find the authors.
Albanian Ambassador to Athens Dashnor Dervishi said it was likely the bus was attacked by some AEK club soccer fans who got angry after a match played nearby. But the bus driver said they were in plain daily clothes and did not look like fans.
In July three Albanians were injured when their bus stopped at a coffee bar for a break and masked men attacked the place in Agrinios, some 330 kilometers from the capital.
