Albanian life expectancy 2nd in the Balkans

TIRANA, July 18 – Open Data Albania held a research study on the longevity of Albanians for in comparison with the region, based on World Bank data.
The result ranked Albania second out of the Balkan countries.
In 2009 Albanian men lived on average 74 years while women 80 years. There was noted an increase in those figures since 1991, just after the fall of the communist regime, when it was 69 and 75 years for men and women respectively.
Only Greece is ahead of Albania with 78 years for men and 83 for women.
