Albanian post starts money transfer

TIRANA, April 4 – The Albanian post announced Wednesday that it had become part of the Eurogiro system of money transfer digitally. The post became its full member in December 2006 securing a fast transfer with the lowest cost and high security and quality, according to a statement. The system was founded in 1989 as the international payment system for banking and post products.
Eurogiro has 57 member countries. Eurogiro has allied with Fed, Swift, VISA, Western Union and UPS. The Albanian post was assisted by the Swiss counterpart to install and operate the system. It tested the system with counterparts in Switzerland, Greece and Turkey.
For the transfer up to 100 euro the cost is 6 euro while for 100-1,000 euro transfer one needs to pay 12 euro and more than 1,000 euro the transfer is 20 euro. Money is withdrawn without commission.
