Albania’s IT part of EU’s project

TIRANA, Nov. 10 – An international conference on the Information Society in Central and Eastern Europe, covering ‘Insights to IST RTD policies in Eastern Europe: Fostering innovation in the “Great European East”‘ will be held Nov. 21 in Sofia to focus on important issues in round table discussions.
The event will address the adoption of a more consistent Information Society Technologies (IST) Research and Technological Development (RTD) approach within the European framework in the eleven project target countries: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, and Ukraine.
The Great-IST project is financed under the 6th Research and Development Framework Program of the European Commission. The Great-IST project has worked to contribute to the improvement of the institutional and legislative infrastructure in support of IST research in the eleven project target countries through the elaboration of state of the art research and recommendations for the convergence of their national policies towards a shared European ICT research agenda.(Tirana Times Staff)
