TIRANA, Aug. 1 – British Airways has increased the frequency of flight schedule between London and the Albanian capital Tirana by introducing daily direct flights.
Previously, BA flew to Tirana on a four-days-per-week schedule. It says it is responding to increased demand from tourists wanting to explore the Balkan country.
In addition, BA is also reducing its ticket prices to Tirana with a return ticket from London starting at 217 euro.
Albania has set tourism as its priority trying to attract as many foreign visitors as possible.
Albanian authorities said last week that Albania was visited by 1.2 million tourists between January and June of this year driving the country’s tourism revenues up by 8.5 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2011.
Albania is set to explode as a tourist destination over the next five years with its low cost of living and an ever improving infrastructure.
