TIRANA, Dec. 13 – Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha invited Italian investors from the Puglia region to come and invest their money in the Albanian energy system which offers great opportunities. Berisha met with the president of the Puglia region Vendola who had come to take part at the “Days of the Puglia to Tirana.” Berisha told Vendola that Albania has 300 sunny days a year and “this creates enormous opportunities of investments also in the field of the green energy.” Albania is suffering continuous power cuts due to the lack of rain and consequently electricity production from its hydropower stations, and also due to the poor management of the system.
