TIRANA, March 6 – The threat of a new arrival of the bird flu has increased border checks, according to health and agriculture ministries’ authorities. Last year Albania found two cases of H5N1 cases in spring. That affected the poultry market in the country which was reduced significantly. Though there has been no new case authorities fear its arrival from other European countries. Authorities pay special attention to check whether any poultry product comes through the border lines and following they are checked in detail. Authorities say, however, that the poultry sold in the country is under all health required standards.
